What are the 3 components of video walls?

A video wall is considered to be a set up that uses multiple monitors and touch screens sometimes tiled together contiguously to form a giant single screen. There are multiple monitors and screens that overlap to give you the gigantic picture electronically. Video wall controllers, management software and rear projection display cubes all combine to give a big display in video walls.  These are huge display systems with 3 types of technology associated with it.

  1. Video walls enable a big display source that offers you high resolution, uniformly bright and high contrast picture that is due to the rear projection display cubes. Each of these cubes is the chief element of a video wall and each of these display cubes is clubbed together with a DLP projector screen to show the output. These cubes have been supported by adjustable stands and are next to each other without any boundary between them. These DLP projectors have high contrast ratios and are able to project an object minutely. This calls for an amazing viewing experience that shows you the minutest of details. Each DLP projector uses a mercury vapor UHP type lamp and has about 4000 hours of life with a brightness quotient of 2500 lumens. These support many resolutions from XGA till SXGA+. There are two lamps usually that work simultaneously and need to be replaced in some time.
  2. The next application that is used in video walls is the video wall controller. This is a hardware computer server that runs on an operating system such as the Windows 2003 server edition. These are designed to stay in operation 24/7 and accepts input from various sources such as the cameras and satellite imagery. Video recorders and DVD players with VCR players and computers also send inputs to a video wall.
  3. The video wall management software is the last component of the video wall and this software decides which source gets displayed in which cube and for how long. The tiled video wall forms a single display on a desktop. The software enables the viewer to view the display and customize it as well. The whole image is viewed live over monitors that are remotely based over an IP and is customized. These are controlled and customized to alter your display character. A combination of cubes will then again display many more images and you can control the viewing experience always.
